Colorado
New England Premiereby Peter Sinn Nachtrieb Directed by Brendan Hughes
Thursday - Sunday June 3 - July 3
curtain: 8pm - Tickets: $15-$31
The Harbor 2010 season opens with the New England premiere of Colorado. Tracey, Miss Late Teen Colorado, has gone missing. Her brother, Travis, is coming of age with the assistance of TV talk shows. Mother, Grace, is obsessed with pies and her beauty trainer. Father, Ron, secretlly wishes to be in Cuba. Just your typical American family, in a sharp, dark comedy about American dreams and the traps set to keep those dreams far, far away.
"Harbor Impresario Brendan Hughes unleashes his talented repertory troupe in this New England premiere to great success. The play provides plenty of perverse material that the Harbor ensemble eagerly sinks their teeth into. The end result is an outlandishly humorous and macabre evening of theater that's right up WHAT's alley." John Watters, Barnstable Patriot

This wild and unruly talk show is BACK! These happenings feature the pent up creativity of WHAT's resident actors and the Lower Cape's best hidden talents. Music, comedy, poetry, film shorts, improv theatre - WHATever. Lots of talent. Pure fun.
"Move over, Leno and Letterman. There's a new kid in town, putting a fresh spin on the late-night talk show shtick... The air is fresh and so is the action inside the theater, where humor is the general theme peppered with some surprises along the lines of music, poetry, film shorts and other culcha. You never know what to expect because the guest line-up is going to be different each week.
Low Tide" is a delicious short hit that promises to bring new and exciting things to the stage each week. Hughes is natural as a host and clearly enjoys the role." Melora North - Provincetown Banner Read full review
Cyrano
adapted by Jo Roets, from the play by Edmond Rostand
Directed by Brendan Hughes
Wednesday - Saturday July 8 - August 7
curtain: 8pm - Tickets: $31 (students $15)
Cyrano de Bergerac (Robert Kropf, pictured) is a master of swordplay and wordplay, but a "magnificent Mount Everest of a nose" blocks his path to true love. A cast of just three actors triangulates Rostand's classic love story into a charming, lightning-paced romance laced with duels, panache, hopeless sacrifice--and an enormous schnoz.
"A raucus good time!" Theatremania
"...a fast-paced jaunt with the obviously serious undercurrent of the triangle that plays out over the platitude that beauty is only skin deep and true love is embedded in the soul...
The versatile Robert Kropf gives a multi-dimensional performance as Cyrano. He is passionate and funny, nimbly moving among the various emotions. .. Jonathan Fielding takes on several other roles...add delightful humor to the play. ...
Brenda Withers sparkles as the quixotic Roxanne. Her expressive eyes and animated gestures provide a dynamic picture of the misguided young woman who can't resist a pretty face...
Hughes' direction of the play is sure and swift, a very / cavort with three actors who clearly know their business and come together for a sparkling performance..." Cape Cod Times

When hard-boiled film noir meets the American Western everyone wins - except poor Mary. It's Sunset Valley, Texas, 1885. Tyrus Cole, a crusty, ill-tempered horse trainer lives on a ranch with his invalid sister, Mary. Unable to watch her during the day, he confines Mary to the root cellar. Enter Dewey, a slightly goofy young stranger looking for help with his horse. Mystery, intrigue, and greed in a genre-bending comedy.
